2002 February Cullercoats March 2002

Gales hit Cullercoats along with the rest of Britain on January 28th, causing considerable damage. This photo shows the damage to an unoccupied car parked outside the John Street Co-op store when a freak gust blew masonry from the roof level to the street below. No one was injured. A nearby house had an uprooted tree crash into the front of it. Walls collapsed, fences blew away and ariels bent skyward.For more photos Click here.
