Long June days in Cullercoats 2001

June is here, and the long days allow for
evening strolls along the seafront. The beach here looks north past the Dove Marine to the RNLI boathouse. The lads below are going to ride the waves with a group by the caves to the right. These photos taken 22/6/01 at 6pm.
Below the fishermens cottages of Simpson Street in the evening sunlight. This is one of the older parts of Cullercoats that survived the 'redevelopment' of the village in the late 1970's. Cliff House on the seafront circa 1700's has recently been refurbished by the current owner is an example of early Cullercoats. The Watch House overlooking the bay was made famous by Winslow Homer the American painter who lived in Cullercoats 1881 - 1882.
