The future of the historic landmark, the Bay Hotel, is in the hands of the Council. Pictured here on the left on the 2nd October, the 'Bay' has been a prominent feature since the mid 1880's. Developers are trying to demolish the building to make way for flats. Residents and conservationists are concerned at the possible loss of an important 19th century hotel. Update:16/10/03...Council pass plans to demolish building.

The above photo taken at 5pm on October 2nd shows a view of Station Road looking west. A magnificent sky highlighted by the late afternoon sun presents a wonderful autumn scene. The photo below left shows Simpson Street in the morning - taken at 10am, October 3rd.
