The celebration service to mark the Cullercoats
Lifeboat Station's 150th birthday took place on the 1st September 2002. The service of re-dedication was attended
by the present and past members of the crew, residents, and by the Dowager Duchess of Northumberland who
unveiled a plaque to the memory of the six men who died when the Cullercoats Lifeboat capsized in April 1939.
